Understand a voice message in another language, and reply by voice

Parents, grandparents, a partner or friends in another country send you voice messages you only half understand. Or the other way round: you're the one speaking another language and want to be understood.

The problem, from both sides of the conversation

Plenty of people keep in touch with family through voice messages, because it's faster and more personal than typing. When each side speaks a different language, the voice message becomes a barrier: the person receiving it can't follow it, and the person sending it never knows whether they were understood.

ReplyLingo handles both sides. The person receiving understands the message in their own language, and the person replying speaks their own language and is understood in the other's.

How it works, step by step

  • Open the voice message in WhatsApp (or another app), tap Share and choose ReplyLingo.
  • ReplyLingo transcribes the message, detects the language and translates it into the one you chose.
  • You hear the translation in a natural voice, and you can read the text too.
  • Record your reply in your own language: it's translated and spoken in the sender's language.
  • Listen to the preview and send it back through WhatsApp.

Who it's useful for

  • Families with relatives abroad who speak a different language.
  • People living in another country who want to follow voice messages from home, or reply to them without struggling.
  • Couples and friends who send each other voice messages in different languages.

More than 100 languages are supported, and you choose the voice that reads the translation aloud.

What about privacy?

Your conversation history stays on your device. To translate, the audio is processed by AI services; the Privacy Policy explains which ones.
